"I don't like the slow burn" isn't equivalent to a short attention span. It means you have no patience for something WASTING YOUR TIME just to fill up empty minutes because it doesn't have enough plot to carry it through the timeslot(s). For something with romance and action, try anything by Rumiko Takahashi, or the early Tenchi OVA or Isekai Sekichi ga Monogatari (english title: War on Geminar). Or Tenchi Muyo GXP for the comedy side taken up to 10.

In defense of Emily, there are so many of those beautifully animated works that have such pathetically lackluster stories that for all the technical and fiscal requirements of creating such gorgeous works, barely anyone will actually remember them in any capacity whatsoever. Honestly animation doesn't need to have detailed statics, all focus should be on what's moving. It's what makes Mob Psycho 100's animation so pleasant to watch, and typical animes so janky.
